What is BuildQuantify?

BuildQuantify is a set of browser-based tools for the quantity-takeoff work that estimators, site engineers, detailers and contractors do every day. Instead of rebuilding the same spreadsheet for every job, you enter dimensions once and get counts, volumes and weights you can check and use in a bid, a purchase order or a bar schedule.

The tools

• Rebar Cutting and Bending: build a full bar bending schedule with ACI shape codes, bend deductions, cut lengths and total weight, then export it to PDF for the shop or the site.
• Concrete Takeoff: turn slab, footing and wall dimensions into cubic yards or cubic meters, with waste allowance and a saved log of every pour.
• CMU / Block Takeoff: estimate blocks, mortar bags and grout for a masonry wall after deducting door and window openings.
• Feet & Inch Calculator and Unit Converter: do fractional feet-and-inch arithmetic and convert length, area, volume and weight without leaving the page.
• Excel Tutorials: step-by-step guides with worked examples for takeoff sheets, bid comparisons, change-order logs, schedules and cost tracking.

How to use it well

Each tool shows its formulas and assumptions on the page, so you can see how an answer was reached and compare it with your own hand calculation. The results are estimating aids: waste factors, lap lengths, mortar rates and similar values are general rules of thumb. Before you order material or fabricate, confirm quantities against the project drawings, specifications and local code.
